Time Away
| Well, four months into the year and time is flying. It's been a while since my last post, and almost as long putting paint on the canvas. After being out of town for almost three months out of four, it's time to start painting again. After a quick break from landscapes to complete a couple of underwater paintings for a private collection, the red dirt is back on the agenda. Keep an eye out for a landscape in the upcoming Cossack Award, to be held in the City of Roebourne.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
| Christmas is almost upon us and the new year is just around the corner. Between all the end of season parties that go on this time of year, the paint is still hitting the canvas as the heat of Summer pushes up the temperature to the 40 degree mark. The new series is coming along as I hope you enjoy the above painting of the Shothole Canyon, here in Exmouth. The rugged terrain of Western Australia reveals a beautiful spectrum of earthly colours that changes by the hour as the sun moves location. As the winds increase, marking the beggining of the cyclone season, the red dirt flys past the canvas, and the battle to paint the landscape without the painting being covered by the landscape is a task that is rarely won. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas and I'll see you in the New Year.

New Series
| Having time out to establish a new artistic direction, the paint brush is back on the canvas, with rich colours of the earth captured in the landscape of the North West Cape of Australia. Heading into Summer, the new series of paintings reflect the hot, harsh environment of the Gorges that surround the township of Exmouth. Whilst early in the development of this series, a passion is growing for this style of painting. As I get around to releasing some of the images, you will notice the emphasise is on the contrast between hot and cold, reflected in the application of colour. The aesthetic view of the painting in not in complex techniques, but in simplistic brush strokes. Watch this space as photos become available.
